How a tailor-made itinerary is built
1. Tell us how you travel
Your dates, the number of travellers, the pace you enjoy and the kind of places you want to sleep in. Nothing is fixed at this stage — a two-line message is enough to start.
2. We draft a route
Our team maps a realistic day-by-day route around your priorities and Sri Lanka's actual driving times, so you are not spending half the holiday in a vehicle.
3. You edit it freely
Swap a night, change a hotel category, add a safari or drop a site entirely. We revise the draft until it reads like your trip rather than ours.
4. Confirm and travel
Once you are happy we lock in the vehicle, chauffeur-guide and accommodation, and stay reachable on WhatsApp throughout the trip.
Who we usually design custom trips for
Families with young children
Shorter driving legs, pool time built into the afternoons, elephant and turtle experiences chosen for age suitability, and hotels with family rooms.
Couples and honeymooners
Boutique stays, two-night minimums, a tea-country night and quieter southern beaches. There is also a ready-made version if you prefer one.
Wildlife and photography trips
Early gate entries, longer park time, and safari blocks chosen for the season rather than for convenience.
Repeat and long-stay visitors
Routes that skip the obvious circuit — the east coast, Jaffna, Knuckles, or a single-region slow trip with one base.
Gulf-based travellers
Itineraries built around Doha, Dubai and Riyadh flight times, with late-arrival first nights near the airport.
Small private groups
Multi-vehicle logistics, group-friendly hotels and a shared day-by-day plan everyone can follow.
What every custom itinerary includes
- Private air-conditioned vehicle sized to your group
- English-speaking chauffeur-guide, including fuel, tolls and the driver's meals and accommodation
- Hotels we have inspected, at the category you choose
- Entrance arrangements and pre-booked activities where they need reserving in advance
- A written day-by-day plan and WhatsApp support while you travel
What we will tell you honestly
Sri Lanka is small on a map and slow on the road. If a draft request means six hours of driving on three consecutive days, we will say so and propose an alternative rather than sell the version that looks fuller. We will also tell you when a season is wrong for a region — the south and east coasts have opposite weather windows, and safari conditions change through the year.
Prefer a ready-made route?
Some travellers just want a proven itinerary. Our fixed 3, 5, 7 and 10-day trips — including the 3-Day Kandy & Nuwara Eliya tour and the private honeymoon tour — are listed on our tour packages page. Any of them can still be adjusted, so it is a fine starting point for a custom trip.
If you are planning a more premium private trip — boutique hotels, private villas and a slower pace — our luxury travel guide explains how those journeys are put together and what to look for.
Ready to start? Send us your dates and interests and we will reply with a first draft itinerary — we usually respond quickly on WhatsApp and aim to reply within 24 hours.
